The Physicist, in collaboration with Radiation Oncologists and other team members, provides radiation therapy care to patients.
Responsible for quality assurance, and treatment planning of all radiation therapy treatment equipment.
JOB DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
Conducts routine calibration and testing of radiation producing equipment including but not limited to linear accelerators, CT simulators and HDR units in accordance to State and Federal regulationsResponsible for measurement of radiation characteristics and collection of dosimetry data for clinical useSupervises treatment planning and patient dosage calculation11.
Conducts routine patient chart review for treatment progression and accuracySupervises equipment repair/maintenance.
Also, supervise/perform quality improvement programAssists chief physicist, physician and therapist in complex patient treatment and simulationPerforms dose calculation/measurement to radiosensitive organ of the patient.
Also, supervise/perform radiation shielding calculation /measurement and design for patient treatmentSupervises in-vivo dosimetry performed by the dosimetrist/therapistDevelops/modifies treatment technique to improve patient treatmentProvides in-services to radiation oncology therapistsReports any equipment failures or medical events to chief physicist and Network AdministratorPHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:
Sitting a total of 5 hours per day up to 3 hour increments.
Standing a total of 2 hours per day in 1 hour increments.
Walking a total of 1 hour per day in 5 minute increments.
Frequent fingering and handling, occasional firm grasping and twisting/turning.
Occasional lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds.
Frequently pushing and pulling up to 50 pounds.
Rarely pushing and pulling objects up to 100 pounds.
Frequent stooping/bending.
Occasional crouching and reaching above shoulder level.
Rarely squatting, kneeling, crawling or climbing.
Touching as it relates to feeling.
Hearing as it relates to feeling.
Hearing as it relates to normal conversation.
Seeing as it relates to general vision, color vision and depth perception.
EDUCATION:
Master of Science in Radiological Physics or related field.
TRAINING AND
Experience:
Graduate from a CAMPEP approved medical physics residency program.
Minimum two year experiences including experiences from residency training.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
